Cindy Morley, Beloved Wife, Mother, and Cherished Friend, Passes Away Peacefully at 68
It is with deep sadness that the family of Cindy Julia Morley (née Byrne) announces her passing on Monday, August 25, 2025, at St. Peter’s Hospital in Hamilton, Ontario, at the age of 68. Cindy passed away peacefully, surrounded by her devoted husband and children, after a courageous health battle.

Cindy leaves behind her loving husband of 47 years, Rick, her lifelong partner and best friend. Their love story began when Cindy was just 13 years old, and together they built a life rooted in loyalty, laughter, and enduring love. They shared countless adventures, from traveling across Canada and abroad, to spending quiet evenings together with family.

She was a proud and devoted mother to Jennifer, Christopher, and Jessica (Andrew Boyd), who will forever treasure her unwavering support, her wisdom, and her loving heart. As a grandmother, Cindy—affectionately called “Gigi”—poured boundless love into her grandchildren Trent and Reese, spoiling them with her cooking, stories, and unconditional affection.

Cindy was the cherished daughter of the late Joseph and Florence Byrne and a beloved sister to Kathy (late Dan Johnston), Jo-Anne (John Woodcroft), Jim (Denise Byrne), and Mia (Steve Jacob). She is predeceased by her parents but leaves behind a large extended family, including nieces, nephews, cousins, and great-nieces and nephews, all of whom were touched by her kindness and warmth.

Born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario, Cindy spent much of her childhood in Kinmount, where she formed treasured memories that carried into her adulthood. Kinmount remained a special place for her—where family, laughter, and the outdoors intertwined in the happiest of times.

Cindy was a woman of many talents and passions. She was especially known for her love of cooking and entertaining. Her home was a gathering place for family and friends, where her delicious meals and thoughtful hospitality left lasting impressions. She loved sharing her recipes, offering kitchen advice, and making sure everyone left her home feeling full and cared for.

Beyond her family life, Cindy’s warmth and generosity extended to her many lifelong friends. She had a rare gift for making people feel welcome and valued, and her infectious laughter and radiant smile lit up every room she entered. Her friendships were cherished and enduring, often spanning decades.

Cindy’s life was a shining example of compassion, resilience, and love. Her memory will be carried on not only by her family but also by the countless friends and loved ones whose lives she enriched.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life service at a later date, where friends and loved ones will gather to honor her memory, share stories, and celebrate a life lived so fully.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Canadian Blood Services, an organization close to Cindy’s heart, and one that provided vital support throughout her journey.

Cindy will forever be remembered for her big heart, her devotion to family, and her ability to make every moment meaningful. Though she is no longer with us, her love and light remain eternal in the lives of all who were blessed to know her.

“A beautiful soul is never forgotten; Cindy’s love will live on in the hearts of all she touched.”
