Larry “Jim” Motto, 75, of Stephenson, MI, Remembered as a Hardworking Family Man and Community Member, Passes Away
The Stephenson community is mourning the loss of Larry “Jim” Motto, age 75, who passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025, at Aurora Medical Center–Bay Area in Marinette, WI.

Born on July 23, 1950, in Daggett, MI, to the late Stewart and Arlene (Berger) Motto, Jim lived a life defined by hard work, family, and faith. On May 21, 1983, he married the love of his life, Debbie Christophersen, at Precious Blood Catholic Church, where he remained a faithful member throughout his life.

Jim owned and operated Motto Cedar Products for many years, where he became known for his tireless work ethic and versatility as a true “jack of all trades.” Outside of his work, he found joy in woodworking, tending to his yard, and feeding his hummingbirds. Jim also had a love for golfing, RVing, side-by-side rides, and snow birding down south. In more recent years, he enjoyed exploring the outdoors on his E-bike. Above all, his happiest moments were those spent with his beloved family and close friends.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Debbie Motto, and his six children: Scott (Rachel) Motto, Stefanie (Scott) McClelland, Stacie Motto, Jamie (Dusty) Davis, Daryl Motto, and Kelly Motto. He also leaves behind 16 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, his sister Bobbi Jo Majkrzak, brothers Gar (Jeanne) Motto, Gene (Cindy) Motto, and Joe Motto, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Stewart and Arlene Motto, his brother Garry D. Motto, and brother-in-law Greg Majkrzak.

Visitation and Services:
Visitation for Jim will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 noon at Anderson Diehm Funeral Home, with Father Jins Joseph officiating. Burial will follow at Mellen Township Cemetery.

Jim Motto will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose presence enriched the lives of many. His legacy of hard work, generosity, and devotion to family and faith will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
