Aiken County Emergency Services is grieving the loss of one of its own, Markee Blair Holbert, a valued and dedicated team member who passed away on Monday, August 4, after a courageous battle with liver cancer. He was a proud native and lifelong resident of Orangeburg, South Carolina.
Holbert was known among his colleagues for his unwavering commitment to public safety, his compassionate spirit, and his steady presence during emergencies. He served the department with distinction for several years, earning the deep respect and admiration of both coworkers and the community.
Born and raised in Orangeburg, Holbert remained closely tied to his hometown, embodying the values of service, humility, and community pride throughout his personal and professional life.
