Remembering the Life of Kari Dodd Button (1972 – 2025)
The Lucas community is mourning the loss of Kari Dodd Button, age 53, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 27, 2025.

Born and raised in Barren County, Kari was the cherished daughter of the late Freddie Dodd Button and Nancy Armstrong Button. She grew up working alongside her father on the family farm, a foundation that instilled in her a deep appreciation for hard work, dedication, and community.

Kari was a devoted member of the South Green Church of Christ and was admired throughout the region for her servant’s heart. Known for transporting Amish families across the United States, she carried not only people but also their products, livestock, and goods with care and reliability. Her efforts built lasting friendships and strengthened ties within the community, earning her the respect and love of all who knew her.

She will be remembered for her generosity, her unwavering commitment to others, and the countless lives she touched with her kindness.

Kari is survived by her beloved dog Oreo, cousin Suzanne Britt, and dear friends James and Penny Barker, Jenny Hoffman, along with many others who held a special place in her life.

A funeral service honoring Kari will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home, followed by burial at Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 4:00 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to assist with funeral expenses.

Kari Dodd Button’s legacy of service, love, and friendship will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
