Remembering the Life of Tracy Lynn McCown, Beloved Wife, Mother, and Educator, Who Passed Away at 59
The community of Hueysville, Kentucky, is mourning the loss of Tracy Lynn McCown, age 59, who passed away peacefully at her residence on Wednesday, August 20, 2025. Born on July 31, 1966, in Kendallville, Indiana, she was the cherished daughter of Lorene George Bentley of Wellington, Kentucky, and the late Marvin Bentley.

Tracy dedicated her life to family, education, and community. A retired teacher for the Menifee County Board of Education, she spent her career inspiring and guiding young minds with patience, kindness, and dedication. She was deeply respected by colleagues, students, and parents alike for her passion for teaching and her commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.

She was a devoted wife to Richard McCown, and together they built a loving family rooted in faith, kindness, and strength. Tracy’s greatest joy was being a mother and grandmother. She is survived by her beloved children, Aaron (Courtney) McCown of Ivel, Kentucky, and Ashley (Justin) McCown of Jeffersonville, Kentucky, as well as her adored grandchildren: Lincoln, Connor, and Daniel, who brought her immense happiness and pride.

Tracy also leaves behind her brother, Michael Bentley of Jeffersonville, Kentucky, her sister, Letha Bentley, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends whose lives she touched deeply. She was preceded in death by her father, Marvin Bentley, and her brother, Joell Bentley.

Her passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who knew her, but her memory will live on through the love she shared and the lives she impacted.

Visitation will begin Thursday, August 21, 2025, at 6 p.m. at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home in Martin, Kentucky, and will continue all day Friday, August 22, 2025. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 12 noon at the funeral home, with Doug Elam officiating.

Tracy Lynn McCown will be remembered not only as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, but also as an educator who devoted her life to serving others. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
